About Bone China Mug Printing
Made from fine bone china, your custom bone china mug is thinner and more elegant than other types of porcelain. It's a naturally strong material with a beautiful glossy non-porous surface, perfect for displaying your art and designs. You can design your own bone china mug in 3 equally sophisticated styles. They are all straight edged with slightly different handle shapes, so you can choose the right one to suit your personal preference. You can order your custom bone china mug as a single unit, or in packs of six with the option of adding a logo to the base of the personalized bone china mugs.

How Personalized Bone China Mugs Made and Printed
Your custom bone china mugs are expertly handmade to order. Our specialist bone china mug printing process ensures your designs, logos or patterns are bright, vivid and resist fading away. We wrap your design around the face of the personalized bone china mug using digital printing. Because the base tone is a brilliant white, colors really pop and the finished product has a high definition effect. To keep your personalized china mug looking brand new for years to come, please follow the care instructions and do not place in the dishwasher.
Design Tips
Bone china mug printing involves printing your design directly onto the mug, so there will be a slight gap at the handle. We print the whole height of the personalized china mug for maximum impact, and this gap is very minimal. If your design features an important detail, we recommend that you place this at the front and not near the handle to guarantee the best results.
Whether you have an aztec pattern, a floral design or landscape photography, it'll print brilliantly on a custom bone china mug. If you're looking to cultivate a consistent aesthetic around your home, design your own bone china mug and impress your family and friends with flawless style. They also work really well as finishing touches to business board rooms. Impress clients with your own logo printed china mugs that showcase sophistication and professionalism. Because colors are so intense and bright, they make an alternative 'canvas' for artwork; use bone china mug printing to feature your original pieces.
As we hand-make our items, slight deviations are possible when centering your logo. Therefore we would recommend to repeat your logo with our design tool.
Please note: Due to the handmade nature of your personalized bone china mug, there may be small lines that form at the base and top of the personalized china mug. In order to minimize this effect, we recommend using a pattern instead of a single block color.

Print Guideline
-
What's the best resolution to print in?
We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight.
Ideally your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation. -
Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?
For multi-colored or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colors and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.
-
Which color model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?
We advise providing images in the RGB color space. Specifically using the sRGB image profile, to achieve best color results. What does this mean? In your editing software, choose RGB as the working space and assign the image profile as sRGB (full name sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
-
What does GSM mean?
Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes
and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics). -
What are
bleed areas? When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.
-
Do you print on garments a customer supplies?
Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat
fabric, and sewn into finished products, which gives abetter finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what getsbest results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily. -
Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?
We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which Is close enough for most
patterns, but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns. -
Can I print my own Labels?
Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.
-
How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?
With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely
water based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colors and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility in London where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfillment.
Please note: As we make everything by hand, all sizes may vary slightly.
What makes bone china special?
It is a more elegant and refined type of porcelain developed in 1748, and is claimed to genuinely improve the taste of a cup of tea or coffee.
What does non-porous mean?
The non-porous surface means it's entirely smooth, so no bacteria can build up creating that unpleasant brown film you sometimes get.
Can I put personalized bone china mugs in the dishwasher?
To preserve the print and lifespan of your personalized bone china mug, we advise to only wash by hand. A 1 year guarantee is offered if care instructions followed.
